The dropped stitch

I attended a really interesting zoom session today about the 1921 census in Scotland.

Due to industrial unrest, the census did not take place on the date originally scheduled - 24th April.  These newspaper cuttings illustrated the conditions which led to its postponement until Sunday 19th June.
This change of date meant, of course, that many people were on holiday and away from their usual place of residence. Something for family historians to bear in mind if searching for their relatives in the census records.
