Hot-air balloon …

….. ….. ….. over Coronet Peak, early this morning.

There’s been a lot of hot air down here this afternoon too, 32° inside with all doors & windows open, and no breeze at all. It’s lovely now, the sun has set and a light breeze has arrived. So welcome! Just as well I took Missy out at 7:30 this morning.

The flooding situation in various parts of the North Island is dreadful. So many houses have been red stickered, having been deemed inhabitable. Roads closed in many places, and now - more serious rain is forecast. People will be so distressed and anxious. I feel for them.
A State of Emergency has been declared in Auckland. It’s a disaster.
