Afternoon walk.

We went off to church this morning and it was good to see a lot of youngsters in their teens as one of them was taking part in the service, giving a small talk.
Afterwards we stayed for coffees, (you can have teas and soft drinks). Someone had provided Krispy Crème doughnuts, but we didn’t partake of those, as croissants and pain au chocolat were also on offer!
We were chatting to a couple who had recently moved here from mainland China. The husband was originally from Nepal and his family still live there. He went to Japan first for work, and then China where he met his young wife who is a secondary school language teacher (working on-line). She has only just arrived in England.
They both have a fascinating individual back story about eventually becoming part of a Christian community, he in Nepal and she in China.
Once home again we had our Sunday lunch and a bit later went for a walk, as it has been a bright sunny day, albeit with a bit of a biting breeze.
I stopped to listen to the liquid notes of the first Song Thrush I’ve heard this year. The Robin has been singing for awhile. The Nuthatches, Bluetits and Great-tits have all begun to sing their own individual notes, not a liquid stream of song.
The sun was lower in the sky as we made our way back so I took the photo. It will soon be February!
Why is it when it is The RSPB Great British Bird watch, that they all seem to disappear out of our garden!
