Hey, I was actually able to fly today. Exciting. I got up around 2 a.m. to leave for Pittsburgh for my 7 a.m. flight. Ugh. Way too early. I miss the convenience of having an airport accessible by light rail.

It was cold, snowy and windy. Miserable weather for the drive. The plane had to be de-iced in Pittsburgh. I got this photo of a different plane getting the treatment in Chicago, where my nearly 5-hour layover was. I walked around the airport for just under 6 miles (9.5 km) and then caught my flight.

I landed in Portland, picked up my rental BMW and visited my mom. It was nice to surprise her.
