Big garden birdwatch
We went to the local Vineyard church for a change this morning, warm welcome, lovely people and good to sing some upbeat songs.
Just before we went the bird feeders were like an avian version of Piccadilly Circus, so I was looking forward to a busy hour taking part in the RSPB big garden birdwatch in the afternoon.
The usual advice is to make yourself a nice cup of tea before sitting down to take part in the survey, but we decided to finish off the gooseberry gin instead. Unfortunately the weather cooled and a big wind got up, so very few birds ventured out. Still, always good to have a reason to sit still for an hour.
