Orange singer
The Baltimore Oriole fly in and out of the garden gathering vines for their hanging nest . It's a masterpiece, looking like a suspended woven basket. Papa stands guard and sings as she plucks the proper vines. She is lovely, but drab next to his black and glowing orange.
Off to a Garden Club meeting and program. Tomorrow we set up for our big Saturday Plant Sale. I have to miss painting to help out. We are all way past the fun of the plant sale, it's a lot of work, but our only fundraiser. The Boy Scouts help us at the sale and also help us haul the plants upstairs into the church hall. That really does make it easier for our old knees. It is a big community hit and we have fabulous plants at great prices. We do feel happy when it is finally over and cleaned up.
For the Record,
This day came in with warming temps and a lovely breeze. It may hit 80F today.
