The Falkirk Wheel

I've been wanting to see this special rotating boat lift between two canals for ages, and today was the day I finally did see it. Great engineering, although a bit puzzling why this was done in this scale (and probably for a huge price) to serve small canal boats.

In any case it's impressive to see its scale and to see it work.
