Oddball
We drove out to RSPB St Aidan’s Nature Park today. It is located between Leeds and Castleford, West Yorkshire and was formerly the site of an opencast coal mine. The giant ´walking’ dragline is a unique piece of machinery once the property of the National Coal Board. It is an oddity in this transformed landscape.
It was good to be out in the sun walking in less familiar surrounds but the wind was ear-achingly cold, too cold to linger and there weren’t many wildlife photo opportunities today.
At home, sheltered from the wind I enjoyed watching a variety of birds visiting the feeders.
