IN A CHURCH GARDEN

This is Charles sitting in a Church garden enjoying a blink of May sun and on his way to negotiate with officialdom to get enough money to see him through the next week or so. Society has given him accommodation and is attempting to supply his basic needs.
He tells me has recently been in hospital for a few weeks having been set upon by some hooligans. How that came about I did not seek to find out. My hope is that by passing the day with him briefly and asking only for permission to feature him in a blip, which he readily gave, I might be showing him his plight is acknowledged. I promised to send him a picture and he gave his address which I copied from the official correspondence he allowed me to look at.
