A day at the seaside
Talpa the youngest was staying with us today and so a trip to the beach was inevitable. Late morning we headed off up the coast a few miles to the old fishing village of Collieston where there is a lovely harbour and a small but glorious beach.
The weather behaved impeccably and we met not a single soul on the beach, apart from a demented lovable border collie dog. Do dogs have souls? There was no ice-cream, no winkle stall, no candy floss, no beach donkeys, no amusement arcades, no fish and chips, no naughty seaside postcards, no jellied-eels, just a plastic bucket and spade and lots of sand. A good time was had by one and all!
