Amandine's Plot Treize

Greenhouse area

I have amazing friends on the allotment - as I can't dig at the moment, a friend came to the rescue and dug up 10 barrowloads of soil around my greenhouse.

There's a reason I wanted the soil moved elsewhere: 2 years ago, I lasagne-mulched the area with thick cardboard topped up with a thick layer of woodchips, to prevent weed growth around the greenhouse. This lovely mulch has now turned into soil and needs topped up. However, the level was still quite high and threatening to rot the timber structure of the greenhouse.

Which is why digging the soil to use it elsewhere and redoing the mulch was needed... There was also my loganberry to plant before backfilling.

To thank my friend, I made him a Cotswold grain sourdough loaf and will be giving him and his partner lots of seedlings and plants this growing season! A good allotment tradeoff.
