Bella is twelve

I can't believe it all happened so quickly. I joined them for dinner out, after a party at home with her three best friends. It was dark and cold, and we quickly shot this one under a street light. All three people in this photo, and the one behind the camera, have learned the photo drill since this one, early in her life. I think the earlier one was actually a more interesting photograph, but this year we only had time for a quick shot on the way back to the car. She's just as dubious as ever, but she has learned to hide her misgivings behind a Mona Lisa smile.
