And breathe …
After the rather uncertain weather of our arrival, this morning came as a joy. That’s when this photo was taken from our patio - the gardeners had already started work by the time we were ready to head down to breakfast in the building on the right with the white parasols in front. Breakfast? Lovely food (buffet and à la carte), terrible coffee (watery and tepid). Won’t order that again - there’s a Nespresso machine in the bedroom.
By contrast, we had lovely coffee at the adjoining holiday village , where we visited friends from Raasay who are frequent visitors here. They took us for an exploratious meander which ended up in another seaside complex eating cheese and olives with Madeiran bread. Then the steep hill back to our place (my exercise ring closing en route) to tidy up a bit and meet the Jet2 rep (No, we’re not arranging trips - all too stressful, we’ve decided)
We’re dining in the hotel tonight; I daren’t leave writing this till later when I may well be comatose. Funny how a day just slips past …
