Pier to Nowhere
Another view of the iconic Cement Ship as it sinks further and further into the sea. All contact, however tenuous, with the shore was severed in the last storms. There is some interesting history and a couple of photos from the monument's heyday in the link above.
The path and access to the beach reopened with warnings posted all over the place, and you can see why. Of course no one is allowed on the pier any more, and I'm not sure what will happen to it.
It was a perfect sunny day. We had a lovely walk on the beach, and then shared a sandwich as we sat on a big piece of driftwood and watched the waves.
