Millennium Owls
Golden, portly, puff- chested and proud, the golden Millennium owls, all of them, lord it over Millennium Square in front of the Civic Hall in the centre of Leeds. Constructed in 1933 to provide work during the depression, the flock, if that's what you call a gathering of owls, increased to mark the beginning of the new Millennium and became the shiny, glistening family gathered on all high points of the Civic Hall that we can see today. I think I counted about eight of them in all.
