It's Tiny Tuesday!

Today the sky was blue and the snowdrops have made their appearance: surely a sign that Spring is just around the corner.
We picked up Violet from school as usual and took her to Brownies which she enjoyed.  I think that she rather hopes that her school will be closed tomorrow when there will be a teachers' strike.  The latest news is that her school expects to be open but cannot be entirely certain until tomorrow morning.  They will let us know by 7.30am.  I fully understand their demand for better pay and that it not be given at the expense of the overall budget for education, but many people tomorrow who earn the same or much less, will find themselves scrambling to find childcare or losing a day's pay.  Meanwhile so called 'unauthorised absences' will continue to result in fines to parents as apparently missing even a day's schooling can adversely affect a child for life!
