Upcycling!

My dear daddy's old wooden ladders... Standing on them and sanding them was quite emotional as I imagined all the hours of use he gave them.
The reason for rubbing and sanding them?
He wrote his name in big lovely joined up letters just under the top and I'd like to preserve them.
So I'm giving them a new lease of life. A wash, a sand, a smooth- down. A coat of Matt varnish and then I shall lean them against my office wall and use them as shelves.
