Traces Of Snow Plowing

In February. Not much snow left, some here and there. But it surely will be back before the final end.

The traces of many plowings done this winter are clearly visible. The main picture shows the aspen trunk by the sidewalk. It seems to have got a wound recently, very likely from a plow. This one was cut already some time ago, but it might as well have been whole. By the way Aspen is Finland's most important tree when talking about diversity. Aspen promotes biodiversity by providing a habitat for hundreds of fungi, lichens and insects, especially beetles. As you see, in the picture, there is  lovely coloured common orange lichen (Xanthoria parietina) growing on the trunk.

In Extra there is dirt from plowing. Usually it is mostly gravel against slipperiness, but also e.g. broken branches. hydrangea's here. This time is simply dirty until the beauty of spring supersedes it.

Today was a more relaxed day. I sorted some things, was out in cloudy weather for a short time and had the weekly physiotherapy to have a renewed body again:)
