Fred's - the local trendy dive bar

Until the last few years, a hamburger place named Fred's was just a dive bar restaurant. The building was a shack that caught fire often and the rebuilt building didn't look much different than either the previous one or the burned out shell that it was constructed from. Cold beer, BIG hamburgers and country music. That is what you got. And if you didn't want that, few other choices were available in the neighborhood.

The neighborhood has changed in a big way. Most everything around it is new. Prices have skyrocketed. Sushi and salad bar restaurants are around the corner. Fred's is just one more place to go in a hipster entertainment area.

Here are the marks of "true" Texas above the bathroom doors. Antlers of deer shot far away from Fred's and Lone Star beer that is no longer made in Texas. Oh well, at least they are trying to make it sort of a dive bar.
