Left in charge
When I arrived at Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens, newly reopened in February for the new year, there was no sign of anybody on the desk.
All was well.
One of the tame robins was in charge of the till (but hadn’t yet learned to scan my RHS card) and another was supervising the cakes in the cafe.
It’s a lovely, welcoming place, with friendly local faithfuls and young puppies venturing out. The flowers and bulbs are yet to burst into colour - a treat for future visits.
