A social evening

We did have a respite from the rain for the best part of today, when it was cloudy with occasional bursts of sunshine.  We spent the morning doing household chores and most of the afternoon preparing a meal.  My cousin and her husband came for dinner and we had a most enjoyable evening with them. They left at 10pm and by the time we’d cleared up and got ready for bed it was 11pm, so this is a slightly late posting.

I took the two top photos at 4pm when there was definitely some sunshine, although it doesn’t show up very well, and the bottom two just before 4:15pm when we had whiteout rain again.  Fortunately it did ease a little, but continued for the rest of the evening.
