Bird in a skeletal tree

Another frustrating day - to cut a longer story short, F & I were going to go to Melton to do some jobs but, having driven a whole 2kms to the petrol station to fill up, F's car refused to start again.  The AA were called and a wonderful man eventually arrived, declared the battery was the culprit, replaced it and left.  No sense now in going to Melton so instead, we went home, had a little lunch then went out for a walk around the Broughton Castle grounds.  Beautiful location, lovely walk and we met another lovely man - a 'local' who told us of an otter family who lived in the stream and occasionally ventured into the castle moat.   He'd seen one of them for the first time (in 20 years of living there!) only a matter of weeks beforehand.  Although we walked along the moat to the stream there was no real chance of us seeing one, but it was the thought that we might see one that made it a bit more exciting.  Maybe another time.....?
