Wednesday: Perfect Beach

I realise we’re also quite well served with beaches in Belize but this one has a lot less sargassum and plastics on it.  I managed a brief stroll on the beach before breakfast.  The rest of the day was spent in various meetings.

In one of the meetings there were around 12 of us.  As I was sitting there, I could feel my office chair going down very slightly and quite constantly.  I became aware that I was getting shorter and shorter and that it wouldn’t be long before my chin was resting on the table.  I think everyone was wondering what was going on when I pulled the lever on the chair to rectify the situation and suddenly shot up……

This evening my colleague had a reception at his house.  I was talking to a UK visitor who asked when I was based.  When I mentioned Belmopan, Belize, he got all excited because he was familiar with the big Waitrose there and he had a friend who had a cottage nearby.  Either I’ve missed the Waitrose and the cottages or he thought I was talking about Belper in Norfolk.
