Instead of the coffee with pals I had planned for this morning I went for another socially distanced and lonely walk around the village but with a coffee for company. 

Feeling quite a bit better today, just super tired plus the inevitable slight loss of taste. I can't help but think of myself as so lucky to have not got it before and now only at a late stage in its time with us that, as a result of the miraculous vaccines and its evolution, all I feel is a bit unwell. Counting my blessings.

My thoughts do, however, very much turn to those who got it in the early days and were so very unwell and still suffer the after effects and also to the friends and families of all the poor souls who didn't make it.
