The garden tortoises are mostly in hiding now with the colder windy weather. Some of them have crafted a shelter under the weedproof membrane, or dug into the soil beneath last year's tree prunings. This one was enjoying a spot of sun in the shelter of a wall, so was rewarded with apple slices and some romana lettuce.
