Little Blue Penguins

I left my blip yesterday in the hope that I might see penguins last night.  Well they did arrive - but at about 10.30 when it was fully dark.  No use for photographing!

So an image I captured while I was waiting for/stalking them.

The Little Blue penguins come out of the sea straight across from our camp, cross the road and walk through the camp to their nesting places.  Some of them use the nesting boxes that have been provided for them in the camp, some nest in bushes and some nest under the kitchen and ablution blocks.  Many nest on the industrial site next door.  

Its so neat to have them right in camp even if we only hear them rather than see them.  And gosh, they are noisy!!
