The Main Attraction

I led a Winter Fungus walk today in the Upper Don Valley, quite close to home. It was an excellent turnout for the time of year. The weather was kind to us - mild, fairly calm and dry. We had quite a few newcomers as well as some old friends. I was confident of being able to show them Scarlet Elfcups which always fruit along that section of the valley, and once people got their eyes in, they were seeing them everywhere. Ironically, a lot of the other stuff  had dried up and shrivelled, but we still got a few good finds
