Well, I did step out onto the terrace to take it!

Sorry about the hackneyed blip.  We had a very social day, and did I take a single photo while we were socialising? No. So this is what you get.

We started out at the Saturday morning intercambio (conversation in Spanish and English) on the seafront. It was lovely to see friends again, after an absence of ten months, especially French friend J and British friend E.  Chris, the organiser of the intercambio, came over: "You don't need me to give you a conversation topic, do you?" "No," we said, happily chattering away in English and Spanish as we caught up on news. To our pleased surprise, C, our former neighbour in our petit coin de paradis (still sadly missed) was there -- she never used to come to this -- so we caught up with her too.

Once the intercambio was over, we progressed to newly popular bar La China, just a few metres up the road, with C, J and E, for alcoholic drinks, more chat, and some delicious and very copious free tapas (empanadas and baked potatoes with cream cheese). Mercedes, now too busy to come to the intercambio, passed by and sat down for a drink with us. J called her son B, who shares her flat, asking him to bring her some suncream as it was so hot, so he stopped by for a quick chat before returning to screenwriting. C phoned her husband B, and once he'd finished his guitar playing session he popped along too. It was so pleasant sitting in the hot sun drinking and chatting. We finally dragged ourselves away at 2 pm, somewhat later than expected.

But the socialising wasn't over. Walking back down the seafront to the car, an approaching couple waved to us. Astonishingly, it was H and M, our temporary neighbours when we were unexpectedly locked down here from March to June 2020. We haven't seen them since then. They live in the UK, and are just spending a couple of months here ... what are the chances that we would happen to be walking along this particular street at this particular time? They were heading to the bar we'd just left, so we told them they'd meet B and C, our mutual former neighbours, and they duly did. H has (well managed) MS, and it was good to see her looking in rude health.

So, back home, no lunch needed due to the free tapas. And perfect conditions for sitting on the terrace reading in the afternoon. Our intended lunch was reframed as dinner ... perennial favourite espinacas con garbanzos.

Feline news ... the two-day journey seemed to have knocked poor Mystère for six, but he's been pretty much back to normal today and is starting to get bored with being shut in. I have shown him the terrace and the garden. Stand by for shenanigans!
