Path To Sty Head, Borrowdale, Cumbria
'I do it all wrong, with too much detail, but that's how I like to paint'. So said Rev Desmond Treanor, who was the vicar at my aunt's church from 1975 to 1986 and was a dab hand with the paintbrush. I remember two of the vicars well as she was a lay preacher and we attended events there.
This hung in my aunt's home, along with another of his paintings, that of a bluebell wood, which I also admired. I chose this when she moved to residential care and disposed of household possessions.
A search on the interweb informs me that Desmond's death, as announced in the Church Times, was on 20th March 2016, aged 87, after serving the church in different parishes from 1959 to 1993.
