Golden boughs

This heavily laden hazel shone out on a sombre afternoon like a Christmas tree decorated by children determined to use all the ornaments in the box. Its neighbours were much more scantily catkinned.

Doesn't mean it will have a huge crop of nuts. These are the male flowers. I couldn't see any females that will actually produce the fruit. They are much more discreet.
