Surprise!

yesterday's photo of a poppy about to unfurl its petals led to the lame prediction that the flower would be in full bloom by this weekend.
it may.
but this morning i gazed down at the garden and saw this rogue poppy sporting its full regalia next to yesterday's bud which was still contemplating its future.
nature.
it does its own thing.
