Waipiata

We have friends who have a “bolt hole” at Waipiata - a very small farming community just over an hour from Dunedin. 
They invited us for lunch today, so we drove 2 hours there via the Cromwell orchards to buy some delicious fruit.
The main photo is driving through the Maniototo - a wonderful vast, barren landscape with fabulous skies.
The first extra is part of the delicious lunch we had!
The second extra, some wild horses that are in the next paddock…they were running around and the lone sheep went everywhere with them! It was very cute to watch.

Now safely home to have a quiet evening after a busy social few days.
