Horse and hound

A busy morning for the village as there was a hunt meet at one of the neighbouring farms; people, cars, hunt followers and  horses everywhere as they gathered in the farmyard.  Speculation in the village post office as to which way to drive back up to the top - the village is divided by fields into two.  Some cars were turning round to go back the way they came instead of continuing on the circular route but I thought  I would continue up the hill.  Well,  just as I was on the steepest bend a whole flurry of hounds came the other way followed by the huntsmen and at least 50 horses and riders!  They were all very polite as they thanked the few of us hugging the hedge in our vehicles and what a spectacle, well turned out and smartly dressed, many of them farmers and others from the area.  And that is the last I saw and heard  of them during the day, they must have followed the scent away from us in the other direction.
