Top Withens, near Howarth

Possibly the inspiration for Wuthering Heights. A wild and desolate spot that's apparently very popular with Japanese literary tourists, so much so that some of the footpath signs include directions in Japanese!

After walking up the moor and visiting all the Brontë related sites we returned to Haworth for a welcome cup of tea and slice of carrot cake in one of the many cafes.
