Drains

The plumber is here today. His partner has not been turning up to with (or answering phone calls) for two weeks and there have been predictable ramifications.

Today he fits some valves for the washing machine, but is unable to do anything about the water pressure or temperature of the showers.

While draining the system he reports overflowing drains. I break out the rods, and discover that somehow that main drain is blocked by Warmcel - and everything that has been flushed down after the blockage.

Final public meeting tonight in Lamancha. One farmer turns up for a second night of objections. There’s clearly something getting their back up.

Back home, I’m waiting for Tony and Leila. They have picked up a curry in Penicuik, but missed the turning at the Leadburn. They arrive via Peebles, we eat, and then drink into the early hours. I’m in bed before four, which is a result in at least two respects :)
