Rocky Road

Twelve members of the walking group drove to Glendhu Bay and walked from there to Damper Bay and back to the cars.  Some parts of the track took us through some rocky outcrops.  We had our lunch on a seat overlooking the lake.  Nearly 12K steps, or 8 kms. It was a beautiful sunny day, +24C.

I chatted to a couple of guys walking the Te Araroa Track.  One was from Bournemouth in England, the other from Germany.  They are staying tonight in the Fern Burn Hut.  Extra photo.

We had a welcome cuppa at a local cafe before heading for home.  Another great day out with good friends.
