Rough

Huge thanks for all the favourites and lovely comments for yesterday's Denis the sparrowhawk.  He's been in again this afternoon, landing on the fence not far from where I was standing, although he did clear off into one of the lime trees when I shouted at him.

The Open Reach engineers have spent most of the day here trying to get the fibre cable through the ducting.  They hosed water through, then sent for wider rodding equipment and eventually succeeded.  Thank goodness we don't have to have the drive and road (which is our responsibility) dug up.

This afternoon we've been up to the pond to retrive a forked piece of timber, which is now standing on the patio, primed with bird food (which no doubt the squirrels will find first).
