The rough and the smooth

Spotted this tree trunk on my morning dog walk and liked the smooth wood under the rough bark. Looking forward to seeing all the MonoMonday entries and hope to post results on Thursday or Friday.

It was a lovely morning so we decided to raise Phin to Roslin Glen for a wander. I was very glad I’d taken my wellies as it was pretty muddy underfoot. We split the walk in two halves and enjoyed lunch at Dolly’s tearooms in Roslin in the middle.

Phin had fun swimming in the river before we got back to the car and crashed out on his bed when we got back.

Mr PHL managed to source a supplier of 6kg gas canisters so although we don’t have the new caravan yet, at least we have gas. Apparently there has been a nationwide shortage of canisters so we were expecting it to be more difficult to find any, luckily not!

We’ve had some luck on the storage front too as our previous site has a space that should be big enough so we’ll need to pop out and sign contracts to secure the space.

Our final good news for the day is that Miss PHL is being taken on full time by the school after the Easter break so she can finally give up the bar job and hopefully get a bit more sleep!
