Carlsbad State Beach

Looks like most of this week will continue sunny, warming up to 21-22c by the end of the week. A little cooler by the ocean and by sunset quite cold!

We did a triangular trip this morning to the local Mall in search of trousers for me, onto the Carlsbad Premier Retail Outlet to double check whether Susan had bought the correct size shoes. She had. Finally on to Peet’s for coffee.

We turned up at Chris and Carly’s around lunchtime, which was helpful. Landon was at daycare and will be with his mum until Wednesday evening. Madison was her contented self.

Chris drove us all to Carlsbad State Beach adjacent to Carlsbad Village, somewhere else we always enjoy visiting. After a three mile walk pints and a cocktail were enjoyed at Park 101 on the Coast Highway.

While Carly cooked a very tasty stirfry we watched a bit of TV and enjoyed Madison’s company. She gave it a bit of welly for a while and it’s difficult to know why. Switching from a smile to a cry in an instant. Food seemed to be what she wanted on this occasion.

She’s now found her mouth with her fingers. It’s fascinating to see how she’s developed in the 11 days we’ve been here. What will she be like when we see her in several months time?
