Wrynose pass

After an unsatisfactory day of shopping briefly in Ambleside and then walking nearby but without much purpose, we decided to drive over the Hardknott and Wrynose Pass. Challenging for the cars and A&S turned back but R and I made it to the top where I took this photo. This doesn’t capture the bleakness and silence or the depth of view. It was English wilderness intensified.
