Dragons

These fearsome beasties can be found grinning from the lawns at the National Trust property at Wallington. I have a guide book somewhere which I can’t find (it’s been tidied away) from which I hoped to share some history of these. 
Ah, as I write Mrs S has found it. Apparently I hadn’t looked properly.
These were recovered by Sir Walter Calverley Blackett from Bishopsgate in London and brought by ship to Newcastle-upon-Tyne. I add, a long time ago.
