Footpath to Quarrymill

This is one of my favourite places for blips at the moment.

In the evening we went to see The Siege of Calais by Donizetti. The English Touring Opera production draws parallels with the siege of Stalingrad. It's a dark story without much light relief. It starts slowly, but the second act is quite intense and the emotion of the characters is portrayed in a way that only opera can do.
