Mum's gin bottle

The things you find when you pack. This one is known as ‘Mum’s gin bottle’ which is very unfair since MountGrace’s mother never drank alcohol. In fact we think it would have been a gift from one of MountGrace’s father’s clients.
 
The blue glass bottle is rather beautiful, with a map of Australia on the back. The label (extra) shows John Webber’s painting of the death of James Cook in Hawaii. The gin, long since gone, was ‘Legend Gin’ bottled in Sydney ‘under Commonwealth supervision’.
