Tulips

Flowers will be expensive next week. The florists love Valentines Day. When I was a taxi driver I picked up a young couple from the A&E at 02:30 on Valentines night. He had been cooking a romantic meal with steak and strawberries when she picked up a house plant to see if it needed watering. It had a stick in it which went straight in her eye. He switched everything off and took her straight to hospital. She eventually had her eye cleaned and dressed and were coming out when he suddenly fainted and cracked his head on the marble floor. He was bandaged and told not to drive, hence the cab. I found their situation quite amusing and even made a little poem for them.
Roses are red
Violets are blue
I’ve injured myself
And so have you!
I’m not sure that they appreciated my wit. They were just starving hungry.
