Iced

Another very cold one here in Northampton at minus 6.5C. Again bright sunshine but very little warmth.

I was treated to a pleasant lunch out by two old friends that I've known since I was a teenager. They knew David very well too, so in some ways it was a sad meeting, with David's absence keenly felt.

I asked them not to avoid talking about him. It seems a lot of people avoid speaking of the person who has died thinking this might upset the bereaved person. I believe the opposite is true. We need our friends to keep talking about the person we have lost. It might bring raw emotions to the fore but that's far healthier for us.
