Inspired by Margaret Fell
The artist, Amy Williams, had researched a number of Cumbrian women who had made a significant contribution to society. For her exhibition at Blackwell house, she linked each woman with an appropriate wild flower.
For Margaret Fell, the ‘mother of Quakerism’, she chose a dandelion because it ‘faces much hostility, yet its seeds travel faster than the flowers can be uprooted’.
This is an exhibition not to be missed.
