Work station number two

Worked in the garden all day, lifting, dividing, planting, weeding. I'm reminded of a day I spent at Gullance beach with my brother's three children. The two older ones spent the whole day in intense play, the way older children do, building sand castles on the edge of the sea and making stories up, it was a joy to watch them. At the end of the day, when I called them in, Martin, the eldest, said, I'm exhausted!

Well, I've had a day of intense play in the garden - and I'm exhausted.
