Old Town Leigh-on-Sea.
Had to make another trip to the other end of town today. Set off just as the weatherman predicted a band of rain drifting eastwards - damp and miserable. Stopped off in the Old Town hoping for a shot of dull, wet cobbled streets but all sorts of lorries and stuff in the way as one of the premier pubs and gardens is being refurbished. This little quay looks tidier since the burnt out wreck of the Fisherman's Co-operative has finally been removed. I'm not sure there is much of a fishing fleet landing fish here any more but the weather boarded building looked authentic and it fed into the romantic notion of fresh local fish landed that morning. Not sure what will replace it - something pastiche named "Fresca Pesca" I expect.
