Last night

Early walk not frosty, but very cold. Walked down into the village via a number of paths and bridle ways. Nice walk but still the sticky soil. Wander round hoping for a coffee shop of pub, two pubs not open until 12, one coffee shop didn’t look very inviting so decided to head back and came across a small sandwich place that did coffee and had one table outside. We then wandered up a hill on the opposite side to where we are staying. A couple of hours reading when we got back and then out for a stroll as the sun was going down. So enjoyed our time here and will definitely be back.

Daughter sent a WhatsApp message when she landed and then when she reached her final destination, so got woken at 12:30 and again at two, but at least I slept after that knowing they had safely arrived.
