Odd vehicle
I went to Ely today. I went to my (new) favourite café, which is in a gym. I would never have known about it if someone hadn’t told me.
I always seem to go to Ely when there’s nowhere to park – farmer’s market day, for example. There was no space in my usual car park, but in my second choice car park, a fellow with a dog was getting ready to go.
By the time I’d driven past and done a 51-point turn – there isn’t much space with all the massive cars poking out, and Henry doesn’t have power steering, which the man at the garage grumbles about – the man had vacated the space, and I got it before anyone else could snaffle it.
As I was walking to the café, I saw this weird yellow vehicle coming along the road. It doesn’t have a number plate, so I reckon it must be some sort of mobility scooter or some such.
I had a bagel and a slice of warmed-up mulled apple cake, and got a slice of dark cherry and marzipan cake to take home for Mr Pandammonium. Then I wrangled with my laptop to make it talk to the server hosting my website, to see if this one last thing could be fixed, but it couldn’t. Finally, I did some writing.
I went to Sainsbury’s after that for some vegan crème fraiche and a garlic press, which I’ve broken two of in the last year or so. I’m hoping this one will press all of the garlic out instead of wastefully leaving a layer in the bottom without breaking.
I also got a little bottle to put Dr Bronner in: I broke the bottle in the shower somewhere along the Hadrian’s Wall Path.
I got home in time to do not much other than give Mr Pandammonium his slice of cake, which didn’t last, before going out running with my group. I didn’t fancy it, but I quite enjoyed it in the end. It helps to have lovely people to run with.
